Buddy's Story told in his words
Hi there, friends! My name’s Buddy, and I’d like to share my story with you. It’s a journey of fear, hope, and finally finding a place where I belong.
The first 7 years of my life were... tough. I went through 4 different homes with people who, despite their best intentions, didn’t quite understand me. They used methods that made me scared of just about everything—the world became a place of fear. And when fear takes over, sometimes it turns into something worse: aggression. I became what humans call “a dangerous dog.”
But then, everything changed. Someone finally saw past my fear and anger. This person didn’t give up on me. They understood that my behavior wasn’t because I was bad—it was because I was scared and didn’t know how to cope. They were educated in canine behavior, and they knew just what I needed: patience, understanding, and the right kind of training.
With their help, I’ve learned to feel more confident. I’m still not perfect—who is? There are things I can’t handle, and that’s okay. But now, I can live a happy life as long as my limits are respected. I have love, safety, and people who truly get me. That’s more than I ever dreamed of!
My story is proof that every dog deserves a chance. With the right help and understanding, even dogs like me can find happiness.
